Aromatherapy Massage: The healing properties of essential oils

An aromatherapy massage is the use essential oils in a traditional massage. The essential oils, high concentrated plant oils, are added to the massage oil or lotion. When you inhale essential oils, it affects the limbic system, which controls emotions and influences the nervous system and hormones.



Each essential oil has different healing properties. Listed below are some examples of popular essential oils and their healing properties: 
chamomile, lavender : calming
orange: soothing
lemongrass: inspiring
rosemary: energizing
eucalyptus, pine: decongesting
